Back to cup action and a chance to reach a final of the Herts Senior Cup, our last time being 2014/2015 where we came out on top! After a rather slow draw at the weekend, the Tudors will be looking to get some pep back in their step and get one step closer to silverware. While Wormley Rovers will be looking to extend their turn of good fortune after beating fellow National League South side Boreham Wood to reach this semi-final.
Let's learn a little more about The Worms.

Key Info
Founded: 1921
Nickname: The Worms
Manager: Ryan Wade
Stadium: The Wormley Sports Club
Capacity: approx. 1000
The History:
During the late 1940s through the early 1960s, the Club was very successful in Junior Football, often beating older opponents. However, fortunes declined in the late 1960s and early 1970s, but by 1975, the Club joined the Herts Senior County League with two teams: the first team in the Premier and the Reserves in Division 2. Despite several attempts, the First team has not won the Premier Division title.
The Club upgraded its facilities with a fixed post and rail in 1990, floodlights in 1994, and brick dugouts in 1996. After finishing fifth in the last County league season, the team moved to step 6 in the Thurlow Nunn league for the 2018/19 season.

Although the start was challenging, the team improved by October, notably defeating the eventual champions Hashtag United. The 2019/20 season began well, but a poor run led to a managerial change. Jamie Elliot took over and led the team to an unbeaten streak, finishing the season during the COVID-19 pandemic without their Herts Centenary Trophy final against Oxhey Jetts reserves.
In the centenary season, the team finished seventh and retained most of the squad for the following season. After a slow start and a managerial change, new coaches led to a turnaround, placing the team in the top three. Despite challenges in April, they reached the playoffs but lost to Sporting Bengal. After losing key players, Dean Harrison briefly took charge before Ryan Wade returned, leading the team back up to the Promotion places where they reached step 5 football for the 2024/25 season.
