Opposition Focus | Truro City

Two weeks later, and Bobby Wilkinson's Tudors are back in away action! With no fixture last weekend, we go into our away tie against The Tinners looking to maintain our unbeaten start to the league campaign, as well as our 100% win record on the road so far. A proper away day for The Tudors, so let's dive deeper into tomorrow afternoon's opposition...

Founded: 1889 Nickname: The Tinners Stadium: Truro City Stadium Stadium Capacity: 3,000 Manager: John Askey

Back on our travels, and back in business! With no fixture last weekend, The Tudors go into this one with valuable rest, following our most recent outing with Farnborough two weeks ago in a thrilling 3-3 draw at The Focus Community Arena.

Currently sitting in sixth place, John Askey's side look to build on their most recent away victory against Aveley back on the 21st of September. Coming into the tie, The Tinners have also played nine games recording five wins, a draw and three losses to their name.

Our most recent meeting with Truro City, dates back to the closing stages of the 2023/24 season where The Tudors ran out 0-2 winners in Gloucestershire thanks to goals from Josh Hill, and George Williams who ensured all 3 points were brought back to Hertfordshire. Having troubles with their ground last season, The Cornwall based club played many of their fixtures at Gloucester City's Stadium last season, but now find themselves settled & moved into a new home. That being The Truro City Stadium, which we look forward to visiting tomorrow afternoon!

The Manager - John Askey

Tinners boss, John Askey, is not shy of managerial experience having managed the likes of Hartlepool United, Port Vale, York City, and Macclesfield Town in his earlier managerial days. Having been in the managerial industry for over 20 years, Askey is also a former player himself, playing for both Port Vale in his earlier career, and Macclesfield where he would make quite a name for himself, making 511 appearances for The Silkmen.

As we prepare for another away day tomorrow afternoon, we hope all Tudors making the journey down to Cornwall have a safe & enjoyable trip, and encourage all to send their away day snaps to us via our socials. See you tomorrow Tudors!
