Opposition Focus | Slough Town

Back on the road then! Our second fixture of the week, comes at Arbour Park as we take on Slough Town tomorrow afternoon. With The Tudors currently sitting at the top of the tree and The Rebels not far behind in third place, this sets out to be an exciting encounter. Let's take a look into our opponents...

Founded: 1890

Nickname: The Rebels Stadium: Arbour Park Stadium Capacity: 2,000 (500 seated) Manager: Scott Davies

Our away day comes in Berkshire this Saturday, as we go to Slough on the back of a 4-2 victory vs Welling United last Monday evening. On the other hand, tomorrow's hosts visited Weston-Super-Mare during midweek, and left the Optima stadium empty handed in a 0-2 defeat. Despite defeat in their most recent game, Scott Davies' side have also had a very positive start to the 2024/25 season, currently sitting third in the National League South after picking up five wins in the opening seven games. Additionally to this, The Rebels are impressively undefeated at home in over a year, with their last defeat coming against Torquay United back on the 26th August 2023. Looking to put an end to this run, The Tudors also go to Arbour Park aiming to continue their unbeaten start to the season.

A well established National League South side, Slough have been in the division for six seasons after gaining promotion in the 2018/19 campaign, after beating both Kettering & Kings Lynn in the play-offs. Our most recent visit to Arbour Park, dates back to December last year, as The Tudors fell to defeat in a 0-2 loss with goals coming from Nathan Minhas & Johhny Goddard.

In the early 1930s, Slough played their home fixtures at the Godolphin Stadium, before moving to Wexham Park in 1973. Just shy of 30 years later in 2002/03, the club fell into financial disagreements with the stadium owners which ultimately led the club being evicted. Following the news, Slough then based themselves in Windsor, groundsharing with Windsor & Eton until in 2007 The Rebels agreed a three year deal to ground share with Beaconsfield Town. Despite this originally being just a three year deal, this lasted until 2016, in which the club then found their home, Arbour Park.

With the points up for grabs, this tie should most certainly be a promising one as The Tudors look to maintain their position in the table. We hope to see as many of you in Berkshire tomorrow afternoon. Come on you Tudors!
