For the second time in 48 hours, we're back on the road this Monday evening! This time taking on Essex based side Aveley FC at Parkside. Let's find out a little bit more about tomorrow's opponents then shall we...
Founded: 1927 Nickname: The Millers Stadium: Parkside Stadium Capacity: 3,500 (424 seated) Manager: Danny Scopes
Looking for back-to-back victories on our travels, Bobby Wilkinson's Tudors go to Parkside on the back of a deserved 0-2 win away at Weymouth last Saturday. A bullet header from Kyle Ajayi in the first half, and a clever finish from Joe Iaciofano in the second period ensured all three points were taken back to Hertfordshire.
With The Tudors securing four points on the board going into this matchup, Aveley however, look to secure their first win of the season with just one point to their name so far. Defeat on the opening day to Welling United, and most recently grabbing a point against Tonbridge Angels sets this tie up to be hopefully a cracker, with Hemel looking to continue good form whilst The Millers look to properly kick-start their campaign!
Promotion to the National League South for the first time in their history in the 2022/23 season, Aveley most certainly impressed in their first ever season at this level. Finishing seventh, and narrowly losing to Maidstone in their play-off game at the back end of last season, this stopped The Millers from securing back-to-back promotions.
A fairly new side to the division, The Tudors have only ever come against Aveley twice in all competitions with The Millers victorious in both of these ties. A visit to Parkside in November of last year, resulted in a narrow 2-1 loss despite a late Joe Iaciofano consolation goal from the spot. Most noticeably however, was our seven goal thriller earlier in the year where a hat-trick from ex Tudor Charlee Hughes, ensured Aveley would come away from The Focus Community Arena with three points in a 3-4 affair.
